Quick Overview

Details

The famous 'Shirtbutton' motif was introduced by the GWR in 1934 and is regarded by many as being a suitably austere mirror of the economic situation of the time. Some things never change! The gold version was applied to locomotive bunkers, tender-sides and coaching stock. The yellow colourway was used on freight stock such as the brown Syphons. Both colourways are available in two sizes: Size 1 : (both colours) 307mm (12.08 inches) diameter. Size 2 : (both colours) 358mm (14.09 inches) diameter. FFS 1100 : Gold, Size 1; FFS 1100/1 : Yellow, Size 1; FFS 1101 : Gold, Size 2; FFS 1101/1 ): Yellow, Size 2.
