TENDER AND CARRIAGE CREST - This is the final crest of ‘God’s Wonderful Railway’ and was used at this size on both locomotives and coaching stock right up to Nationalisation at the beginning of 1948. One full size reproduction of this crest which we have seen employed a typeface on the scrolls which was not designed until some 20 years after the GWR ceased to exist! Ours was traced from an original version. Printed in fourteen colours, ‘one size fits all’, as the saying goes: 258mm (10.15 inches) wide by 313mm (12.32 inches) high.
