We realised some time ago that the shunters on the British system had been carrying the black and yellow warning graphics for a good many years prior to the end of steam. Many modellers for whom the diesel and electric age was out of their era of interest were therefore ignorant of this particularly useful sheet. The easy way to complete this part of your shunter's livery is to paint the appropriate areas in Warning Yellow, allow to dry and then simply overlay the transfers provided. The wider chevrons are for the cab end of the engine and will require window apertures cutting prior to application. The narrower chevrons are for the bonnet end and will require, in all probability, the cutting of an aperture for the radiator grille, followed by the application of the single black bars which take the black lines onto the side of the bonnet.
